Meryl Stryfe is a claims investigator for the Bernardelli Insurance Society and at the tender age of 22, she is the second youngest of the main quartet of Trigun. Petite, black haired (though there are those who would argue that it's dark blue or purple, whatever), gray eyed. Very, very short. More so in the manga than in the anime, but I digress. Has a tendency to wear white. ...But she only wears three different outfits, so never mind. She comes from a nuclear family, but rarely writes home.

How can I put this mildly? I can't. Meryl is a total spaz. She tries her very best to keep things calm and orderly when dealing with business matters, and when she fails miserably, the poor girl goes insane. Well, go figure; you can't really force Vash to behave. He's a mischievous little bugger. Luckily, her partner, Milly Thompson, is usually there to calm her down and even her own. Else she would have about forty aneurisms.

When Meryl is first put on assignment to track down and follow Vash, she has the utmost confidence. After encountering a certain loud, wimpy, annoying blonde guy in Felnarl, however, her patience starts to wear thin. After every consecutive encounter with the man in the red coat, she grows more and more determined to find the elusive Humanoid Typhoon. Ever-observant Milly (wouldn't it be funny if her name was Mildred?) brings it to Meryl's attention that GEE, that funny red coat guy just might be Vash! Meryl scoffs. Of course that isn't Vash, Milly! He's just a tall, womanizing blonde man in a red coat with a giant handgun. Silly, silly Milly.

Humor aside, Meryl has a complex and beautiful personality. She is caring, emotional, nurturing, loving, and... cool. And she carries fifty one-shot Derringers under her cloak. I love how the organization in this bio makes so much sense.

It shows up so early in the anime, that I can even tell you in this little intro mini character bio thing. Meryl falls head over heels in love with Vash. Very quickly. And it's cute. So that's why we made this site. Aren't we the best, don't you love us!?
